Introduction

One of the challenges of education at the beginning of the 21st century is the integration of ICT in such a way that it results in an added value to the learning process. Adult education can be a pioneer in this field because its target group is perfect for using ICT in the many forms of open and distance learning (ODL). However getting started with ODL is not self-evident and a thorough preparation and reconnaissance is an absolute necessity.

Taking this into consideration several adult education providers decided to bring together their expertise in a European cooperation. Using the opportunities of the Socrates – Grundtvig programme of the European Union, a project was launched to develop materials aimed at helping adult education institutions in starting with ODL in a thorough way.

TARGET GROUPS

The target groups are decision makers or people involved in adult education in general who want to introduce Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in their centres for adult education. We want to offer them support in making a thorough and well considered choice.
